The broken word. The title breaks across four lines — "espe / tácu / los / do caos" — in heavy white serif, as if it didn't fit the page or had been read in fits and starts. Behind the letters, the same title in red, offset, like a second voice. It is the stage and the curtain the book describes: the staging of one who "lives (or survives) between the fear and the beauty of losing control."

The city as texture. The background is a high-contrast image, black and grey, with the grain of woodcut or photocopy — São Paulo, the skyscrapers "in the epidermis of dreams" the back cover speaks of. The author's name in red serif over a white band, at the foot.

Back and flaps. In red, with the author's portrait, the poem "palc(a)os" and the introduction, by Arthur Teodoro.
