Cover design for As Crianças ("The Children"), by Luiz Felipe Leprevost — chronicles, poems and memories about childhood and family ties, published by Praga in 2025.

The title was made on the scanner. Instead of drawing the distortion on the computer, the letters of AS CRIANÇAS were scanned in motion: dragging the paper across the glass while the sensor read it makes the type run, stretch and tremble into irregular threads. The result has the texture of something that really happened — time dissolving each word, like the childhood memories the book tries to keep. The blue ant hidden among the letters is Praga's colophon, woven into the composition as the small thing only a child notices.

The back cover was built from the author's family archive. Old photographs — parents, grandparents, cousins, Luiz Felipe himself as a child — were restored and digitised and then layered over the title, in high contrast, blue on black, with the numbers of the book's sections cutting across the images. The open cover tells the whole story: on the front, the name that melts; on the back, the people who stayed.

Printed in 4×4 colours, with the spine picking up the colophon and the author's name in white on the blue. The back-cover text is by Mabelly Venson. The cover was named by Toma Aí Um Poema among the best covers of 2025.
